"CROWDSOURCING THE DATA GOVERNANCE MATURITY MODEL" on 14 September 2010, in Brussels
When: Tuesday 14 September, 2010 18:00 to 21:00
Where: Thon Hotel Brussels City Centre, Avenue du Boulevard 17, B-1210 Brussels
BACKGROUND:
In May 2006, the IBM Data Governance Council used poster board and sticky notes in an oak paneled room in the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City to create the categories, elements, and levels in the first version of the Maturity Model. About 35 people participated in that process in Quebec, and perhaps another 50 in subsequent meetings.
On September 14-16 2010, in Santa Fe (New Mexico, USA), the Council will use social networking and crowdsourcing technology to include a global community in a discussion about the Maturity Model – Live!
Topics to be discussed will be chosen from the most discussed and voted ideas on infogovcommunity.com. So your voices on the site will be heard in the room.
Brainstorming ideas in the room will be transcribed immediately into the topics on infogovcommunity.com. Suggestions and comments from practitioners all around the world will be relayed to the participants in the room.
Either way, what you contribute will impact the community and change the Maturity Model. Synchronous or Asynchronous, this meeting is the beginning of a global dialog on Data Governance Maturity.
What we do in the room will make a difference. And what you contribute from your own room will make a difference.

HERE IN BRUSSELS . . . .
The Belgian Information Governance Council would like to exploit this opportunity to contribute to the worldwide Information Governance Community, by means of a local brainstorming workshop. During this interactive workshop, we will discuss all the topics of effective information governance, to ensure that valuable input from Belgian organizations is included in the global discussion on this Maturity Model.
We have assembled the input for all topics from the current Maturity Model: assessment methods and metrics, roles and responsibilities, activities, policies, decision frameworks, etcetera. Our local feedback will be recorded, and entered directly into the infogovcommunity website.
The evening can be a success only if we get your input, opinions, issues and questions. Your participation is extremely valuable, regardless of your organization’s current maturity level.
The setting will be informal and interactive, with food and drinks available in the meeting room.
